Conference session "Nature: an Interdisciplinary Perspective" will be held on 8-9 March 2022 within the 80th International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia. It is organised jointly by the Faculty of History and Philosophy and the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences.

The concept of the Anthropocene, or the age of man, not only draws attention to the ways in which humans affect the environment, but also offers a new framework for thinking about nature, the environment, technology and humans. This framework of thinking also implies the need to transcend the institutional boundaries that have developed over the last few hundred years between different academic disciplines and between science and the arts.

The session "Nature: an Interdisciplinary Perspective" continues to develop an environmental humanities and social sciences platform where researchers interested in interdisciplinary perspectives on nature, environment, animals, plants, etc., and their interaction with human can meet.

The conference will take place remotely on Zoom on 8-9 March, 16:00-19:00.

Those interested in presenting a paper in the conference session are invited to submit a topic and abstract (approx. 850 characters) by 6 February 2022. Applications should be sent to the session chairs: Artis Svece (artis.svece@lu.lv) or Anita Zarina (anita.zarina@lu.lv).
